Goodbye Summer

The leaves are changing colors, and it is RAINING. Halleluja! What a dry summer it has been here in the northwest.

This summer has been - hard, beautiful, crazy, fun, sad, tiring, long, fast, hopeful, good. We said goodbye to my mother. She was followed by our family cat Patches. We spent time with cousins, family and friends. We had trips to the park, OMSI, Utah, the beach, Hermiston and Washington. Is it funny that right before Noah was born, I repeated on different occasions that I had no plans to travel for the next two years with three littles. Never say never people. Just don't ever say it :) Brant started his Doctorate in Educational Leadership program (wahoo!). Lily learned how to pump her legs on the swing. William continues to practice his pack-rat skills by collecting all things and stuffing them into one thing. Noah's skin continues to have issues, but improved significantly when we switched him to formula in July. He also learned to crawl this summer. Lily and William took swim lessons. I weekly recommitted to stop yelling at my munchkins... still working on that.

Through the thick and the thin, the laughs and the tears, the hellos and goodbyes - there is God, and there is beauty. Thank goodness.
