Story Time

A few weeks ago, I had an experience at the library. It was one of those moments that seemed to perfectly capture this fun, messy and entertaining season of life. Here's the recap I gave my sister in a (long) text later that day:

"Here's something else you can laugh about too maybe. Imagine going to story time at the library and sitting in a room full of well behaved, QUIET toddlers and their parents. Now imagine me starting to feed Noah while sitting on the floor (no chairs) and then Lily and William breaking out in a full on battle in the middle of the room, wanting the same book, yelling, and neither letting go. Then imagine me trying to tear them apart while holding Noah, and wearing a nursing cover, and being unsuccessful...with everyone staring at us. Now imagine the next 30 minutes continuing with similar drama. (Poopy diaper, more fights, more helpless mother sitting and nursing while Lily and William argue, me deciding we need to leave early, Lily refusing to leave because she wants a stamp at the end, and me offering her a sticker, piece of candy and finally a golden cookie in exchange for leaving early). It wasn't funny then, but it is becoming."

Grateful those moments are not the norm. How I love these three munchkins.
