William is a one year old. How did that happen? It's crazy how kids grow so fast, and yet you can't see if happen day to day (usually). I remember his soft, spiky black hair and long baby fingernails. He was so little! Now, he's a racing, smiling, jabbering one year old. How we love him. Some of his favorite things include waking up early, smiling, screaming, playing peek-a-boo and hide and seek, going for walks and playing with Lily. He also loves his cars, anything soft and crawling around the house with Brant's old tennis racket in hand.
A few weeks ago, we celebrated his birthday up in the mountains. We had family from both sides in town, so we were lucky to have some of his greatest fans there to celebrate with him :)
We all ate fajitas together (thanks grandma Shauna!), then opened presents and topped the night off with some good old store bought cake.
Now who wouldn't want a piece of that thing? For the record, we were family reunioning, which meant making a homemade cake didn't quite fit into the schedule. Brant set out on a quest to find the perfect cake for his only son, and this is what he came home with. The poor child.
He proceeded to investigate what this foreign object's purpose in life was....
After he got cleaned up, he was a happy camper again. Hopefully this next year is another good one for him!
Happy Birthday William - you are loved!
