Things that have been happening around here lately...
Lily started PRESCHOOL a couple weeks ago. I got a phone call a few weeks ago, saying that a spot had opened up at a preschool she'd been on the wait list for. We decided to go for it, and Lily has been loving it. Three days a week she gets to be dropped off to play with friends and eat snacks. (She loves being "dropped off" at places - I think it makes her feel independent and free:)). So that's been a fun new thing. William and I have been enjoying some more one on one time together, while Noah naps during Lily's preschool time. Here are the kids enjoying the preschool field trip to a nearby pumpkin patch:

William and Lily also got to visit the dentist for the first time recently. Lily went about a month ago, while William sat on my lap and watched her. Lily LOVED it, and keeps asking when we she gets to go back. At the end of her appointment, the hygienist gave her a bag with a toothbrush, some floss and chap-stick in it. Then, she told Lily she could go choose a prize from the prize box. Lily looked at me with a look of sheer joy and said "Mom, I'm getting so many presents." William was wanting to get a cool bag of tooth paraphernalia as well, so his visit was last week.
We also enjoyed General Conference a couple weeks ago. A weekend were we stay home, eat yummy breakfasts and listen to inspiring talks from our prophet and other leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was really good to have family time together. Our prophet, President Nelson, extended some neat invitations to us. One was to take a ten day fast from social media and any other media that brings negative thoughts to our minds. It was a really refreshing experience to take this challenge. For years, I've felt impressed to use facebook less. While I've slowly improved in spending less time with facebook, I'd never taken a break longer than a day or so. The challenge from President Nelson helped me realize that with heaven's help, I can be very deliberate in how and why I spend my time with social media, and do more with the time I've been given each day. I hope to keep the flame of better, intentional living alive :)
And lastly, today the kids and I began working on Halloween costumes - I learned (for the first time?) that it can be a joyful, creative experience if it's not left until the afternoon of Halloween day :) Until I blog again ➜
